Behind the Fan: @perrieelittlemix 💗

This week we interviewed Ellie, a Little Mix superfan who runs @perrieelittlemix on Instagram! The 17-year-old from Liverpool, England has been a fan of Little Mix for over a decade and we are so excited to share her story with you! Keep reading to hear all about her experience as a mixer. ✨

Ellie’s been a fan of Little Mix since she was 6 when she saw them on The X Factor in 2011. She initially became a fan when she was watching X factor in support of Marcus Collins, the runner-up, who is from her hometown and fell in love with Little Mix! What draws her to the band is they aren’t afraid to speak out about important issues and how it’s affected their lives! Ellie says that seeing the girls being so open about their struggles has helped her on her own mental health journey. 🤍

Next, we asked Ellie what her favorite Little Mix song was, and “Secret Love Song” holds a special place in her heart because Ellie and her partner aren’t out to their parents yet and the song reminds her that their love won’t always be secret! She also appreciated it when the girls included their fans in the music video for “Break Up Song” (Mixers in Lockdown). The band had their fans submit videos jamming out to the song so everyone could be included since COVID had everyone inside. Ellie even knew some of the fans from her account and was such a special moment for the fandom and the band! 🥰

Seeing some of her friends represented in the music video is not the only way that Ellie got to experience her favorite band. In 2019, she got to meet Leigh Anne in Liverpool! She says, “we took pics and I got to hug her and tell her how inspirational she is to me and how much she is loved! Needless to say, it was the most amazing moment in my entire life.” We are definitely a little bit jealous! Ellie has also seen Little Mix live 13 times over the past 10 years! We know she will carry these concerts with her forever. As an expert on Little Mix shows, Ellie says the perfect Little Mix concert would be to see each of the girls perform their favorite songs without any time limit. She says, “it would be so meaningful to us as a fandom!” 🎤

Next, we asked Ellie what the best part of running her account is, and she told us that it is hands down the people she’s become friends with! She talks about how she started the account in 2018 and soon after went through a traumatic event in her personal life. “The only people I had to support me were my internet friends. They understood how I felt which was weird to me as I was just 13 at the time. I am still friends with most of the people I met back then too!” Internet friends are some of the most special people in our lives and we love hearing about how Ellie has them in her life. 👭

Lastly, we asked Ellie if she could send a message to Little Mix, and here is what she had to say: “If I could send a message to Little Mix I would say thank you! From the bottom of my heart, you girls have done so much and are inspirations by just being yourself and showing us that life isn’t perfect! You girls deserve the world! I love you more than words could say and I’m so excited to follow you on your journey as artists! I’m so proud of you! Thank you for making me laugh, cry and smile!” 💖
